Another flat tire…. the MS Metaphor continues!

Before you left for stage 1, I asked you why you were doing this ride in the winter. You told me that although you were happy with the results of the first EndtoEndMS tour on Highway 93, you wanted to do something that would be more challenging so that you could have an idea of the day to day challenges that people with MS experience. I can tell you from my own experience, you have done remarkably well. You have faced all kinds of adversity…. from flat tires, unexpected conditions & delays, blizzard weather, numb hands & feet, achy muscles & joints and even having to accept help and change your path even when you’d prefer to just keep going. All of these things are a perfect metaphor for MS…. and to think, you are only 1/3 of the way! Who knows what your in for next?!? Which is exactly what people with MS have to deal with. You are an inspiration!! If you can ride your bike everyday for us, I’m going to try to keep up with you and make sure that I ride my bike and do my stretching everyday (because I know it makes me feel better). Even when I don’t have the energy to do it, I will think of you and I’m certain that will give me the motivation I need. Thank you Greg for all that you have done for me and all the others with MS.
